LoT November 23/24 2012 Oulton Park/Anglesey Coastal

Post by robin » Thu Nov 24, 2011 6:45 pm

Too early to commit but probably worth putting into your diaries and budgets.

Price deleted as I wasn't supposed to post it. I don't think the event is secret, though.

I think everyone who went to Oulton Park had a good time and this promises to be twice the fun - Donkey Punch DP ...

Cheers,
Robin

Yeah, top combo.

Anglesy is Coastal too, not done it but looks the best layout (think Ape has). Saves the boring drag up to the hairpin and back.

coastal is awesome. The corkscrew is driftastic, me and robin got a row for looking at the marshall out the side window. I got black flagged, but instead of not drifting, i just started giving the marshall shady looks out the side window instead :D

It's in the diary now. Most thoughtful heads-up, Dad, thanks :thumbsup

Kelvin, Lisa says that if you are likely to have the kids, we might also come down as a Family Crew and she'll play Kindergarten Gestapo Commander while the track sessions are on. Give it some thought.

What's the budget then. £250 for both trackdays? 2 hotels for £50 a night? (maybe more for family rooms...). So £7 a week in the Trackday Jar from now and Bob's your Auntie :-)

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

The Corkscrew is indeed drift-tastic :)

I was at Anglesey for the Time Attack round earlier this year, and the biggest issue I had was finding accommodation - there isn't a lot of B&B type accommodation near the circuit at sensible prices, so I ended up in Llandudno which is about 45 minutes drive from the circuit. Llandudno has hundreds of hotels and B&Bs, with plenty of cheap places to eat and drink. If you want somewhere near the track then I'd recommend booking early!

Last time I did it we just stayed at Oulton two nights, buggered off early and arrived late for the briefing :-) Actually with a slightly tighter strategy (i.e. sorting out fuel stops correctly) we could have made the briefing on time.

Robin

If we do end up coming with the children, I think I'll follow your recommendations John! Top tips.

As soon as the 2012 family diary gets fixed to the wall, this is going on it - across all 4 columns :-)
