European Track days

Post by flyingscot68 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 4:58 pm

I've done quite a few bike trackdays in Europe, the latest one being Almeria in March this year.

The company we use transport our bikes and all our gear to the track, provide good quality accomodation, track time (obviously!) marshalls etc.

The service is superb and pretty good value for money.

Just wondering if there are companies doing the same thing for cars and if anyone has tried it?

Cheers :cheers

i do quite a few bike trackdays abroad aswell. You should join www.sebikers.com and we'll try and sort some trips out. Theres about 25 bikers from SE who use SEbikers to arrange runs and organise trackdays. Its good to try and pool together resources when it comes to hiring vans etc for trackday trips.

As for cars, lotus on track do a 'French Frolic' most summers, and trips to Spa, or the new bilster berg resort. Downside for you, compared to what your used to, is that you need to drive your car there. http://www.lotus-on-track.com/lotshop/

The other alternative is www.bookatrack.com who do a spanish trip in February. This is a good bit more expensive then French Frolic, but the hotels are 5 stars. They can organise (at additional cost) car transportation for you, or you can drive it yourself, but its a long way to the south of spain. They also do hire cars, so you can hire a caterham for the trackdays (thats what i did)

Any questions, about sebikers, or the car side of trips, just shout.

i should add that the car trips are a good chunk more money than the bike ones. Frolic is £850 for 3 days on track and 7 nights Ibis style hotels. Its great value for what it is, but as the days are OPL, rather than sessioned, the numbers will always work out more expensive.

Thanks for the info, something to mull over for next year I think.

I've signed up to sebikers.com, just need to find the time to get involved.
That's the general issue at the moment, I've got all the toys but no time to play! :thumbsdown

Jerez could be very tempting - will start looking in to it.
