April Fools Cadwell?

Post by robin » Sun Dec 02, 2012 1:43 pm

LoT have Cadwell Park on April 1st. It's an expensive circuit to hire and so the only day they have at Cadwell next year.

I realise some of us are going to Spa just a couple of weeks earlier so maybe it is just too soon for another track day ... but Cadwell is good fun in an Elise and it seems we never go there?

Cheers,
Robin

We asked Jo for a double header with Oulton/ Cadwell or Donnington/Oulton

Awaiting response

Yup, done it a few times and it's fantastic. Twisty bits but also very fast challenging corners...and a jump. :)

It's easily possible all the way back to Aberdeen straight after.
(50 miles or so further than Oulton and certainly not as far as Anglesey)

I love Cadwell, and used to drive there once or twice a year for track days many years ago. I still drive there once a year now for Time Attack, and can confirm it's easy to drive back to Aberdeen on the same day and get in before midnight.

For those not wanting to venture quite so far, SIDC should have Saturday 30th March booked from 9am to 1pm unless the race calendar changes.

Cadwell now firmly on my radar after "conquering" (sic) Oulton.

Not practical to commit right now but shall keep an eye on proceedings.

Yup, I drove down there from Kinloss in my 67 MGB GT, did a round of the CSCC race then drove back home. I did lose overdrive on the way back and also managed to remove my rear bumper on the left hander before "the mountain". Luckily the boot was big enough to stick it in after retrieving it from the marshals...

Brilliant track though!

I spoke to Jo and she doesn't think a Cadwell/Donny double header will come off as they only do one day a year at each due to both circuits being very expensive to hire. I asked that she consider it for 2014 but it definitely won't happy 2013 - for reference their Donny date is 27/9 - worth keeping an eye on the other track companies in case an Oulton Park date comes up either side of that?

Cheers,
Robin

Work to live, man, work to live!

Although why do you think Scotty has a T5 Camper...so he can just kip his way around all the circuits all year ;-)
