Post by Nig The Stig » Mon Jul 29, 2013 12:24 pm

Anyone booking up to go to Spa on the above dates? I've booked to go with Circuit Days as I have done for the past 4 years. Great bunch of guys and the best track !!!!

Hope to see some of you there.

Not sure about October but all packed to head off there tomorrow. Best track for sure. :)

The Ring is good but too many nutters on it and I don't like public days where you have to dodge Sunday drivers and motor bikes alike. Spa rules for me.

So Destination Nurburgring is worth checking then.

And actually the last two "circuit days" days I've done at Spa have resembled the ring at its worst, so I won't be going back on their days at Spa I am sorry to say.

Cheers,
Robin

Surprised to hear that, I've been going with them for the past 4 years and not had any problems.

I've been with them twice over three days at Spa. Each day there was overtaking in the braking zones, overtaking in the corners, overtaking on either side of the track and certainly none of it by consent. Not to mention the people racing their friends in supercars with a "take no prisoners" attitude. Of course these guys are all quicker than me and I am a nuisance by wanting to drive round at my glacial pace; on a LoT day typically this would be resolved by them passing me on the straight or the organizers taking me aside and telling me to make sure I check my mirrors. I guess that's not the way it works on a circuit days day at Spa.

The most recent briefing ended with "there's some racing drivers out there who will be nobs" ... in the pits there is a "pit crew" and on the pit wall there is a guy with a clip board and six stop watches around his neck ... draw your own conclusions as to whether or not this is a track day.

Cheers,
Robin
