The nice people at Moris refunded my insurance premium minus a £9 admin fee. I thought I had to cancel on the day but apparently not. Pretty chuffed as I thought it was down the toilet!

Thanks for the reminder, away to phone insurance company and inform that the event was cancelled due to fog and see what they say.

Steve.

Edited to say that I still have my full quota for this year :thumbsup

Hmmm just reading the thread, so due to bad weather you have been able to claim back from your car insurance? Is that really possible? I'm with Manning and the thought of claiming had not crossed my mind...

They are not claiming the event fees on their car insurance (just in case that's what you are thinking). They had paid for trackday cover specifically for the event, (either through an allowance of X number of trackdays included in their policy or one off event policies). As the event did not go ahead, that insurance would appear to be refundable / or re-allocateable. :thumbsup

CCI just wanted proof from the organiser or KH that the track day was cancelled.

I never got any money back as my policy comes with 5 track days included.

If the event was cancelled then there was no possibility of you claiming for an accident, so there should be no justification for the Insurance company not to count it as not having taken place.

Sadly I can't make the revised dates so my two slots + passenger are for sale in the classifieds... :(
