At least I got three laps :). First time driving the car since the engine went in and it seemed to drive every bit as well as the old one. :thumbsup

Since it was such a wash out, maybe people would like to come along to Kames next weekend. ;)

Myself, Stu and Jamie, also had a good run over the Cairn oh Mount then a little extra run out via Tarland and Strathdon. Earlier we had decided to just head straight up to Aberdeen, with Martin taking a chance and heading to Braemar via Perth. I noticed that the weather was clearing over to the west as we approached Brechin and pulled over to ask Kinger and Stu if they fancied going over the Cairn? Kinger was just heading home, but Stu had time, so we decided to go for it. Roof came off and then we turned off just after Brechin. Once on to the Cairn, we came up along to Jamie who was parked up, but he soon was on our tails. Roads were drying up with only a few greasy patches here and there. We stopped at Aboyne for a toilet break and noticed Martin coming along the road from Braemar and he said that the roads had been dry that way too.

Thanks to all who gave some advice today and I am looking forward to the next one. (I probably got the best deal today, with the KH instructor sitting alongside me for the sighting/warm-up laps and then talking for about 30mins afterwards giving me lots of info/help.

I have just received an e-mail to say that this was the first time in seventeen years that the event has had to be cancelled. (I hope that I never jinxed this one).

Away to head into town and meet up for a few beers with the boys soon. :cheers

Steve.

Thoroughly enjoyed the run with Stu & Steve. Glad I stopped for that pee otherwise I would have missed you guys :D Thanks for taking us that route Steve, it was a fantastic selection of roads.

Must admit, I am still gutted about the day being postponed. I was really, really looking forward to getting out on track and trying out the cars new setup. I am not too hopeful of making many other Trackdays this year due to some long term work projects looking likely to start imminently. Fingers crossed I get lucky and find myself at home for the rescheduled day.

That turned into a good social event, great to catch up with a lot of folk. While very disappointed in not getting out on track (other than the warm up laps) I was glad it was cancelled after an hour+ of waiting, as the time available was getting too reduced and the track would have been much busier, probably with an increase in stoppages too. So, although disappointing, good call guys. :thumbsup

First time in seventeen years of organising SIDC events at Knockhill Tut that we've had to call off on the day.
