Trackday Insurance Help
Trackday Insurance Help
Assistance required please on trackday insurance.
Anyone got names of companies that do trackday insurance?
My current company Aviva don't do trackdays.
Looked at Insuremytrackday.com and got quoted £112 for the day?
Is that reasonable?
Looking forward to getting my car on track after Kinger took my round as a pax last year and hearing how much he enjoyed the Frolic too. Looking to go to a Spazz/Frolic in the future myself, so reckon I need to get some track time in place first.
I would appreciate any pax from others to show me the lines and if any of you are willing to give me some tips while I drive around then that it would be good too.
Steve.

I have a flier for Ryan Motorsport insurance but haven't tried them yet. Same as you I am with an Admiral multi car policy this year so will need for Spazz.

Re: Trackday Insurance Help
Depending on when your renewal is due and how many track days you'll do, you might be better cancelling your current policy and taking out one with the track days included. There are details for CCI, REIS and Henderson Taylor in the insurance section.
Getting a pax and also getting someone to sit with you is never a problem. Most days also have an instructor on offer either free or pretty cheap which is always worth taking up.

Re: Trackday Insurance Help
Agree with Gary, if you can cancel and get a refund, call Mary at REIS, tell her you have never heard of tut, and you will get four track days a year, and a proviso of the insurance is that you have to have used your car on track.
No brainer, been with them for years, never made a claim yet as never had an accident in N3, but if I did confident that there would be no problem. Minimum premium is £300, but I only pay £350 for N3, which says it all.

I'm with CCI, you get five trackdays included or six if you drive a Lotus
Re: Trackday Insurance Help
6 trackdays included with Henderson Taylor so well worth cancelling mid policy if you're going to use a couple.
If you're just buying a days track cover it tends to cost 1% of the cars value with an excess of 10% of the cars value.

Been with REIS for years (since i bought Caterham).
Couldn't find a nicer group of people to deal with, 4 free track days (Not Nordschleife !! )
£550 per year, (including windscreen insurance which was about £100 IIRC.
I'll certainly take you out as pax - and also give you some tips (More about using your brain on your first few trackdays than driving !!)

Thanks for your help gents.
The best deal that I have been offered is through Henderson and Taylor. £80 saving from last year and also trackday cover too.
The new deal is £342 which includes six trackdays a year. Home and abroad.
My insurance runs out this month anyway and I was just going to carry on with Aviva and add trackday cover on to it, but they said that they don't do trackdays. So the next step was to get individual cover for each trackday which was going to be £112 per day and I thought that I will see how I like it before changing over companies. Henderson and Taylor came up with the best offer and they told me that the insurance cover with six days trackday insurance is with.......... yes, you've guessed it...............Aviva. The guy at H&T informed me that they can get special deals for Lotus which the public cannot get access too.
Anyone else heard about this deals too?
Steve.

Re: Trackday Insurance Help
That's the exact same policy as I'm on. Unfortunately mine doesn't cost £342. It's a specialist broker scheme rather than the sort of policy you can get direct from the insurer.C7Steve wrote:Thanks for your help gents.

Re: Trackday Insurance Help
My policy through CCI is also with Aviva. Very similar, except the price :-/
Re: Trackday Insurance Help
CCI option is only good for you if your 40+. Aviva put the age limit after a number of claims, booo.
