End of year Double Header with LOT - Oulton & Cadwell
Re: End of year Double Header with LOT - Oulton & Cadwell
Be safe out there
I will miss my annual trip to Oulton due to family matters.
There is nothing like the autumnal surface at Druids to exercise your sphincter muscles
Correction............
There's nothing like the curry houses Ross continues to choose...................to exercise your sphincter muscles
Normal Boagster service will be resumed next year

Heading down soon, with a family pit stop on the way, but will be there for the pre-curry beers.

Steakhouse closed due to fire. Castillejar Tapas can't take more than 4 tonight, and only at 5.30pm.
I propose every man for himself then a hotel bar. Which one?!
Campbell at Southwaite. Over n out.

Sat in Manchester airport, on my way back to Dublin - Cracking time was had, and Druids was surprisingly grippy, Mr B...
Didn't take many pictures, but it I'll stick up what I snapped when I get the chance.
Thanks to all who let me drive their cars, and thanks for the pax laps I received too
Drive safe at Cadwell those heading there tomorrow!

All too busy driving.
Cadwell was a blast.
Just collecting my Chinese takeaway before retiring to the Ibis, Bramley. All the nutters are driving home tonight.
I decided to get some rest and travel early tomorrow.
As I understand it, everyone kept it on the black stuff today. Hope all home safe soon!

Just home. Sorry for the lack of posts Tut. We didn't forget you, in fact I even stole your parking spot!
Slightly broken but home in one bit after finishing with an epic drive up the A68 in the GT3. I have bonded with that car. It's epic.
Great banter, beers, tracks and driving by all, another great end of year trip.

Not that much to report ... left late, arrived late (missed curry but didn't miss pub quiz or beers ). h
Had a good day at Oulton despite the idiosyncratic handling of "The Slag" as it's affectionately known.
Knickerbrook (or whatever it's called today) was hilarious in the morning - a combination of a very slippery surface and The Slag's left-hand-corner-instant-oversteer handling meant that I didn't do that corner "straight" until sometime after lunch
The same handling made Cascades a little more nervy, though in the end I got used to the idea and relaxed into it a bit (I am no sideways hero!).
Unfortunately the brakes were pants - I was hoping that they would come back a bit after a good trashing, but I think they just need scrapping - but no big deal really.
Customary amount of spannering, including a chewing gum repair on a crank position sensor (that's a first for SE, I think!). Luckily for me Craig was there to lacerate his arm on a hot engine to replace the sensor twice! Finding the inertia switch on a 340R was a new challenge too (not an SE car).
Driving standards were excellent - I neither saw nor heard of a single dodgy thing happening on track.
Cheers,
Robin

It's not the same when I'm not there to get in the way

Do not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES allow Andy to take you out in his GT3, unless you want the taste of your lunch to haunt you for the rest of the day.
