Zandvoort

Post by wianw » Thu Jun 12, 2014 8:14 pm

Just booked this as I've always fancied Zandvoort. Lots of history and an interesting combination of elevation and corners.

Anyone else on here thinking of it?

Highly recommended Ian, really handy for the Newcastle ferry. Dates don't work for me though.

I love Zandvoort, but watch out for the first and last corner if you don't have a baffled sump, especially if you're using sticky tyres.

I couldn't go on the opentrack day ... the grammar and spelling on their web page is just too bad :-)

Cheers,
Robin

Robin

Think I should be OK:
- the GT3 is dry-dumped

- I drive like "Driving Miss Daisy"

I'll have a word about the grammar and spelling, its costing them £££ in lost bookings!

Cheers

LOL - it's not your driving I would be worried about; the problem on some European circuit days is that their normal rules for trackdays are just different - e.g. you can overtake on the brakes into the corners, etc.., etc. They may or may not be any more risky, but it can be a culture shock for people used to British track days with (most) everyone following the rules.

So when LoT runs a day whether here or abroad they insist on the briefing and rules being like the UK days - some of the others UK organizers do the very same thing - but it isn't always that way.

Cheers,
Robin
