Glad you guys managed to get some good video footage. I was having such a good time I forgot to even switch the GoPro on, and that was after making sure I had two fully charged spare batteries.........Plonker !!!!

A big thanks to Shug for his advice too, got out early when weather was at its worst and the track was pretty "iffy", especially the river flowing across the track just after the bridge, right where you want to brake. It just seemed to get easier there after. What didn't help was my choice of tyres, Old ZZR's on the front and very well worn 888's on the rear. I had been hoping the rain would clear early and I'd just replace them with new tyre's after the day.

Awesome day

I was told that it was fifteen, but if they were accompanied with an adult then it was ok.

Robyn and I were in the garage for a few minutes. I wouldn't take her to the pit lane or pit wall anyway so I assume the garage is ok.

Small (lower quality) versions uploaded to my website for easier sharing on forums - just copy and paste the IMG tag under each photo:

A brutal day, 1.5 hours spent fighting with the steering wheel alignment, a lost gear linkage circlip in the pouring rain, then the bottom end went :(

I have had better days, at least I got a photo though! :)

How did you manage to break a Honda engine Lowell, respect as I never achieved that.

I had my Calum there last year, aged 12 at the time, no issues...

Oil pressure issues the night before, think I "killed" it then, wheel spinnigng and hitting the limiter in 2nd and third coming out of the hairpin probably didn't help :)

What's the damage?

Several times in yellow N3 I went from 3rd to 2nd at 8400rpm coming out of the Hairpin instead of into 4th, got away with it except for once when it broke the driveshaft in half.

The engines shagged, if am lucky it's a set of bearing shells, unlucky and the cranks gone too, it need's a rebuild either way. I have found an mot failure/unemployment situation CTR in mintlaw I am considering, going to see that this week, means I could whip the engine out & still use the elise whilst my engine was away, could always put it back in later and sell as a complete car..

An "as new" rebuild to oem spec, so new everything and the liners machined etc isn't cheap..
