OULTON PARK TRIP
I had a great day on Friday.
In particular the half hour before lunch was great in the Exige. Just slippy enough to make it fun but not so slippy as to make it a struggle.............you know what I mean.....................
My highlight of the day was driving the shed. It was fantastic fun, handled so nice, was extremely chuckable and quick enough in a straight line, great
In fact I liked it so much Ross had to pretend to need a pee to get me off the track
Going back to the Exige after that was a bit dull to be quite honest, it just goes to show that all that time and money spent by Lotus and some of us has been a complete waste of time.....sheds are the future!

Honestly, I did enjoy the pax laps in my own car, and picked up a fair bit from them...
...I did actually need the loo, but I admit I was suffering from slight paranoia over the health of the front pads, and figured they'd need changed pretty soon...
Fantastic fun the whole trip - I've really missed the SE social side, and the craic is easily as much fun as the actual driving...(Even if Malcolm and I propped the hotel bar up until 03:30am the evening before... )
When's the next one???
Ross.
The SE boys take their Oulton trianing seriously by checking body fluid levels every five minutes.
Blackbird Jim looks on in awe as tales of nurburgring, spa, zandvoort and the relative merits of their barmaids were swapped shamelessly
In a feat of utter selflessness , Kelvin pawns his watch to pay for the last round
Ali savours what possibly could be his last frothy lager before leaving these shores to work in the tee-total land that is Nigeria
Robin decides that Paul's 340R would benefit from further weight reduction and proceeds to remove surplus pulleys and belts
Token Oulton Pitlane scene to demonstrate that we really were there...and not holed up in some pub south of Penicuik!!
Proper trackday shots to follow once Paul empties his Nikon
