Bloody fantastic! Just perfect but the most red flags I've ever experienced on a track day though.C7Steve wrote:Good day?

And I caused one so not a good day for me.
First engine problem ever with a Honda after hundreds of thousands of miles, looks like a S/C bearing failure.

Great to see so many SE peeps and on such a sunny day. Good for the soul. Mega busy track day though and the red flags didn't help. I think five might be a little conservative! Still, car went well and I did enough laps to be happy.
Well organised day as always, thanks John.

Wouldn't class the supercharger as engine problem relating to Honda tut as it's an add on anywaytut wrote:And I caused one so not a good day for me.

Afraid I contributed to the red flag quotient due to a bit of an embarrassing off in the Caterham[SEE-NO-EVIL MONKEY]
Hope I didn't hold things up too much...
Good wee last half hour in the Exige to round off a fun morning.

Glad to learn there were no prangs and everybody enjoyed themselves, gutted that I had to bow out.
I made up for it with an epic drive in the Morgan, to Ullapool and further north, what an amazing day it has been.

Not sure if that's a complement or not
Great day John, many thanks for organizing
Look forward to the pictures!!

First track day in my VX220 and loved it. Thought all the driving was to a really good standard, just hope I did not get in any one way. That Mclaren 675 went past me on the home straight like I was in reverse! Great to see some of the exotics out, I'd never be that brave or that talented.

Re: SIDC 25th March Knockhill
Tut,
It was unfortunate that it happened. I think it was the kerb at Duffus that caused it. We did take a lot of kerb when it happened. Perhaps the bounce over the kerb caused the belt to slip?
Even more unfortunate was the toe eye. Good thing it was only the eye that sheared and not the bracket that got pulled out the clam.
Give me a shout when you get it back and I'll pop round to do the OBD stuff we talked about.
Danny
Glad you got a lift home.

Fantastic day, first time in the dry at the 4th attempt. Loved it. Didn't realise you were there Campbell, catch you next time. Had a great time following Ian in his lovely GT3.

Really enjoy our time on track, sometimes following and sometimes leading. Great to see other than a Cup 250 torque there is little between your stunning Exige of 15yrs old vs a overly priced new machine. Aside from the drivers of courseFerg wrote:Great to see so many SE peeps and on such a sunny day. Good for the soul. Mega busy track day though and the red flags didn't help. All part of the fun... your exhaust sounds epic! Loved following you before you disappeared on the straightsDougT wrote:Afraid I contributed to the red flag quotient due to a bit of an embarrassing off in the Caterham[SEE-NO-EVIL MONKEY]

And simply forgot to say... huge thanks John! Excellent day and organisation. Each year I very much look forward to your SIDC events. Top work
Re: SIDC 25th March Knockhill
Another vote of thanks to John for yet another great SIDC day. I've not done one for a few years now, but today was just about perfect for Knockhill. Enjoyed seeing a number of people I've not seen for years, always good to catch up
There was quite a collection of exotica on track today, the 675LT was extremely impressive. Just glad I didn't nudge into it as I was slowly reversing back ouf of the pit garage (fully harnessed up, so limited range of movement) as it was pulling in
