Cars off the road at the moment - needs an oil cooler and new piping
So clam off job - looking at over a grand
Also - ferry prices rocketed £(820)
Chanel tunnel saves £400 but adds miles .....
Plus service and set of tyres

Jings, that’s unfortunate timing.

I think the 2 single day returns still works on the Chunnel. Usually about £100 total.

£170 return for chunnel - however I was building in a hotel each way

Have any of the hotel details been released yet?

It looks like we are going to have an extra few days either side of the Frolic and are looking to meet up with Ali C to join him on Saturday morning to head through the Chunnel and onwards to the first hotel.

Here is a brief plan on what we are going to do.

Wednesday 1st August - Abz to Troon (3hr 30mins)
Thursday 2nd - Troon to Harrogate (4hr 30mins)
Friday 3rd - Harrogate to Chunnel Hotel (4hr 45mins)
Saturday 4th - Meet Ali C - Chunnel to Le Mans (5hr 18mins)
Sunday 5th - Le Mans Trackday
Monday 6th - Dijon
Tuesday 7th - Dijon Trackday
Wednesday 8th -
Thursday 9th - Magny Cour Trackday
Friday 10th - Travel to Chunnel (6hr 30mins)
Saturday 11th - tbc (head towards Wales)
Sunday 12th - tbc (Wales)
Monday 13th - tbc (Wales to Troon)
Tuesday 14th - Troon to Aberdeen (3hr 30mins)
Wednesday 15th - Relaxing day
Thursday 16th - Back to Work

Haven't seen any details listed anywhere yet.

Wish my schedule was more like yours.

Ill be work Friday 3rd. Leave at 5pm to drive to Amersham, hopefully get there in good time :wink.
Up early on Saturday 4th for 10am chunnel. Drive to bar via quickest route. Then similar.
Then Friday 10th back to home via chunnel. As soon as Im home ill no doubt be handed a crying baby and then Ill spend the rest of the year earning sufficient browny points for more trips like this.

Can we go yet? :cheers :drive

4weeks (and two days, not that I am counting  ) to go now, so I better think about ordering some tyres.

I just remembered that my passport was also out of date and renewed it last month. It only took two weeks to come, so you still have enough time if yours is out of date too. :D

Thinking of going for the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres this time after the delamination problems on the inside rear ZZR tyres the last time.

Quick price check from Tyreleader is showing fronts at £129.41 for 215/45 size and £208.91 for 265/35.

Has anyone received the hotel details from Paul yet?

Has anyone booked any other hotels, ferry, Chunnel yet?

Also, does Harry’s Lap Timer App work with the French Tracks, as I think I might get it before going?

Thanks D :thumbsup

What’s your plans, are you travelling down with Ed? If your travelling through the chunnel first thing on Saturday morning, do you want to meet up with myself, Kathy and Ali?

What’s the recommended pressures for the Cup 2s?

Front 29 Rear 32 cold for road and 30 hot all round for track?

I’m chunneling on the Thursday I think. I’ll also miss lemans but will be there for Dijon and Magny cours.

Temps for cup2’s are 29 and 32 after about 3 moderate laps so not cold and not hot. Rears at about 35 hot seem to work well. They have soft sidewalls and grippy surface so you don’t want them too soft. You can tell when they get a bit hot and too much pressure as they start to slide. (Usually only after many laps though)

I have used Tawse Tyres in Inverurie previously, but I will maybe start a thread to see who everybody else uses for their tyre fitting in the Aberdeen area.

Hope you enjoy Spa and the Ring too. Hopefully you will post some pictures with a small write up.
