Ali,

Did you book your car in as a ‘high car’ which is recommended for low ground clearance sports vehicles?

“Low ground-clearance vehicles (sports cars): If your car is exceptionally wide or has low ground-clearance we recommend that you book your vehicle as a High car (car over 6ft/1.85m) to avoid difficulty boarding our shuttles.”

I think he will be fine on the lower deck. (That’s where they normally put us)

Last year I had AA, which took over a month to return my car. This year going to use my Green Flag cover I get from my bank. ADAC seems reasonable too.

Holiday Inn Ashford - Central
Canterbury Road
Kent
Ashford, TN24 8QQ
:thumbsup

I booked the Chunnel normally but by the wonders of IT they recognise the reg as a low vehicle:
Chunnel wrote: Your vehicle has been classified as a low vehicle, please ensure you follow correct signage on site for smooth boarding.
For breakdown I have AA for the UK so for me it works out best to extend the free days they give to the full trip.

I also did the Dartford crossing online setup:
www.gov.uk/dart-charge

So many details given away...

Any thoughts on where to stay coming back on Friday night? I'm keen to get a head start up the road, maybe 3 or 4 hrs max. up from the Chunnel.

Ali,

We have provisionally booked to stay in Maidstone on the Friday, so it will be a very short drive (40mile) for us after the Chunnel.

I have just been looking back at previous posts to see who is coming along.

1. Ed & Tom & Hugo
2. Gordon
3. Kenny & Lesley
4. Steve & Kathy
5. Ali
6. Kevin & Carla
7. Big D
8. David & Julie (not sure if they are coming)

Is this correct?
