I had a variation to option 2 where I'd blat all the way to Dover on the Friday joining you late evening.

New Option 3: :thumbsup
Friday Aberdeen to Hull, overnight ferry to Zeebrugge.
Saturday to Le Mans (317 miles)

Return via Zeebrugge would also be relatively painless (assuming avoiding ferry trucker man love)...
Option 3 sounds great. I will look at ferry times and prices later. :thumbsup

Option 3 is an earlier start.
Need to be in Hull before 1700 last check-in and it's approx 8hr drive for me.
Pretty good the other end though, arrives 0930 and a 5 hr drive to Le Mans. Lunch in Paris and arrive Le Mans for check in at 1500...

Returning from Magny Cours it's 350 miles (5hr 45) to Zeebrugge for 1730 last check-in. So fairly relaxed...

I think we would leave on the Thursday night and travel down past Edinburgh and stay over at Berwick Upon Tweed (or somewhere about the same distance) then travel to Hull on the Friday.

Overnight ferry Portsmouth to Le Harve or Caen also worth a look. Less than two hours from Caen to Le Mans

Interesting angle, certainly.

Bit of a slog to Portsmouth though. I'd rather do my driving on the continent?

Not that I'm doing any of that next year! Got a wee scam in mind to have a Frolic-esque Lotus for 2019 though :-)
