Croft is amazing, I think I might just add this on to the trip.

And the new surface is very good too. Still bumpy but grippy. Image

What exhaust is on it, Clarkie?

Anyone got a noise meter?!

(Robin suggests I nip up to see Sasha at KH, to check my 2bular “Quiet Performance” install!)

I think the 380 has the louder exhaust as standard. 105db static at Oulton should be fine. I think mine is around 100db static.
92db drive by at Oulton too which I hadn’t realised. Never had an issue with that if I’ve passed the static but think some may have.

98db drive by at Donington is more difficult to pass though. I think because of where it is rather than the limit.

Standard fit from the factory, sounds great, but there is lots on other forums that it is too loud for some tracks. One owner was local to Oulton Park, drove there to have it checked and it was within limits. KH might be a shout, I’ll buy the coffee👍

Was just about to ask about noise levels for both tracks - are they published anywhere?

Oor Jen has fixed me up with a contact at KH armed with a noise meter. Hoping to pop over Sat. Want me to see if they can squeeze you in too?

Unless you have Scotty spec back box with no stuffing you ought to be OK at Oulton Park. Donnie is different - anything that sounds loud will fail - and they will kick you off to "fix"; second time it's end of your day.

So if your exhaust is louder than the average bear, get a bung or fit a standard back box or don't plan on many laps at Donnie. Or chance it - you could be lucky :-)

I can only assume that the 92dBA limit at Oulton Park is measured further from the track - it is meant to correlate to a 105dBA static test I believe (i.e. to catch people that sandbag the static test). The 98dBA drive by limit at Donnie is measured closer to the track I assume. The only way to be sure would be to hold a noise meter 500mm from the exhaust (or, if your car is super/turbo charged, possibly the inlet!) and check you're less than 98dBA on full throttle climbing through the revs.
