Available in morning, afternoon or all day flavours :)
Extremely well organised track days and usually high standards of driving so if anyone wants to lose their track day virginity *cough*Richard*cough*, get yourself booked. :thumbsup

Seconded - spectacularly good trackdays.

I'm sadly unable, due to moths in wallet (after more goodies)

Im really tempted to give this a bash, but am still worried about being completely guff and getting in the way. Also, what happens with regards to helmetoids?

You can hire them at the circuit, but they smell of oxters

Helmets are a hire from KH (fiver I think).

As for speed - just get out there and don't be an arse - that's all anyone expects. There are always slower drivers, as long as there is some consideration for the guys overtaking, *nobody* will have a problem with that. (plus, if you let faster guys past, you can try to copy them and see where you're slower)

If it's your first day - I'd probably recommend booking just the afternoon and blagging as many pax laps in the morning as possible. That means you've got used to where the track goes and you know what the car can actually do.

Then just build up speed - don't try to be quick from the start, concentrate on keeping a good line and the speed will come. Get some of the more experienced guys to pax with you and give you pointers, if you fancy - I found that really helped too.

At the end of the day, it's no more challenging than a road run and a bloody sight safer 8)

A rare thing but I totally agree with Shug. SIDC days are in my opinion the best for new drivers as the driving standards and manners are excellent. Basiclly because it's a club run event - anyone acting like a total muppet will be chastised by the rest of the group. That and John Stewart doesn't take any sh!t either.

Also, there's usually the option of some instruction (for free) from one of the KH staff. The KH helmets aren't that bad actually since they replaced them all. The old one's did smell of oxters tho :(

I'm gonna go the full day - with my own non-oxter-smelling lid

How does it work then? Can you just turn up and try and blag pax trips or do you have to pay just to get in?

Not that it matters this time........

jke11y - Knockhill do an hour session with an insrtructor for £90 and if you are wanting to get into a trackday its a really good start !

You'll probably be sharing the circuit with 5 cars tops, and all of them will be on Knockhill experience types days so there is little chance of you holding up anyway......you also get to blast past a Ferrari 355 if you are lucky and that cna't happen every day.

I did that before any trackdays and its a great way to get your confidence up and learn the lines. You'll also get an instructor "playing" in your car for 2 laps which gives you an insight into how good the cars are. I cr*pped myself  :P
