The weather is looking cold and damp at first with light rain becoming heaver by the afternoon for this Saturdays trackday.

I may pack an umbrella if the forecast changes for standing about between sessions as the pit garages will be closed.

I have just read that Kinnaird's restaurant will be open for the usual breakfast and snacks. :thumbsup

Need a drive thru Gazebo for the 311.

A warning if anyone is planning to drive to Knockhill via the A823 Gleneagles to Muckhart.

There are roadworks with traffic lights and a temporary bridge set up just north of the Tormaukin Hotel.
The bridge has very steep entrance and exit angles which make it unsuitable for sports cars with limited ground clearance.
I’m pretty sure that Elise, Exiges, Caterhams or similar would find it impossible to negotiate.

I'll be taking the Kincardine Bridge route instead.

See you on Saturday.

Anyone know if spectators allowed at all?
Will be passing so was going to drop by for a bit

Can’t find any info on knockhill website or SIDC forum.

Officially the guidance indicates no spectators with only drivers and passengers allowed and Knockhill currently check licenses and paperwork at the entry gate on arrival but recent experience at a few different trackdays / evenings is that once the event is underway the gate is often then left unmanned and anyone can come in.

Probably not worth a specific wasted trip in case tomorrow is the exception but if your passing by anyway then seems worth a try......

Excellent day today at KH, well apart from it being a little bit cold in between sessions. Good to catch up with everyone after recent restrictions and looking forward to more time spent driving over the coming months. Also great to see four new trackday sons along today, with three of them out behind the wheel and them also involved with the craic, with some enjoying the kitty litter too.

Well done to Ali C today taking the 311 and he will be glad to get home after the monsoon all the way up the road.

Also, it was great to see James Hall having a great time too after all the trouble he had with his last car. No fire extinguishers were required today.

Thanks John for organising and hopefully KH can have a slot for another SIDC day later in the year. Looking forward to seeing the pictures too. :thumbsup

It was great to be back at Knockhill, and catch up with lots of you. Hope you all enjoyed the day despite it being cold and somewhat wet for the latter half!

Thanks for impeccible driving on track. There were only a couple of short duration red flags due to mechanical issues (oil dripping from one car) and I don't think anyone went off track and needed recovery :)

I didn't take too many photos once the rain started, but I've uploaded a selection here:

Brilliant day chaps - did a lot to ease the monotony of lockdown/covid, and hard to believe how times have changed since my first visit to KH.

Ed's new Elise (which is lovely) had us reminiscing about our early forays up to KH in 2004 with the 111R (Elige) and Exige! Great to see Tom P back north of the border also!

Well done to everyone for making the trip, especially the Abz crew, and hope Ali's Coldtub wasnt too bad on the route north. (first time Ive missed my 311 was on seeing his car)

Uncle Rons son Fraser made his trackday debut! Didnt realise my cousin had never been on track so soon sorted that out.

Oh, and I nearly forgot, we finally managed to introduce Kinger to the Kinger Lounge! With drinks in the fridge, GP FP3 on TV, and heated seats, it was a welcome break to the baltic conditions of KH in MAY!

Thanks again John for making it happen and the great pics.

The first weekend date available is Saturday 9th October, due to the entire motorsport season being compressed into a few months.

This date is a few weeks later than we would normally have our last event of the year, so not sure if drivers will have packed their cars away for the winter by then?
