Thanks for organising again John. :thumbsup

Pity about all the red flags on Saturday delaying the amount of time spent on the track.

Photographs look good too.

Thanks Steve :)

Sometimes we go several events without a single red flag, and then on Saturday we get 3 in total I think. On average I think we are much better than some other track days where they are sometimes lucky to get 5 laps without a red flag being shown!

All of the red flags were to clear the track and prevent possible damage to nice road cars, and not to clear any broken down cars. The marshall at the chicane spotted a "lump" of mud just off the racing line and was concerned it was a boulder that could have burst a tyre or been flicked up onto a following car. They also cleaned gravel from the other corners and kerbs at the same time, to prevent anyone getting stone chips or a chipped windscreen.

The long 25 minute red flag at 3pm was after one car dropped fluid along the back straight, again off line but they didn't want anyone potentially going off on the slippery surface. It takes a while to put down concrete dust and brush it in for 200m of track, even with 5 people working on it.

The last 8 minutes were also abandoned due to gravel on the track that was going to take that amount of time to clear completely.

Had it been actual races, neither of those would have stopped the race and they would have tidied up in the gap between races.

Don’t worry, John. Steve was just freaking because he had to make small talk with my James for 20 mins sitting in the pit lane

Hey Guys

Worth noting John was doing well to brake even from this event, so would be awesome if we can get some more SE'ers along to the next SIDC and support him a bit more.

Was a good laugh regardless and the red flags gave me time to eat the treats I brought for everyone from Costco :cheers :damnfunny
