Knockhill - Friday 24th August 2007, 6pm-8pm - SAROC

Post by Stewart » Thu Jul 05, 2007 7:27 pm

I have had an email from the Scottish Alfa Romeo Owners Club advising that they are holding a track night in August.

Some of you may recall that they held one earlier this year which one or two of us attended. It was a well run, quiet night with a mix of mainly Italian machinery.

I have confirmed with the organiser that he would be happy for us to join them.

I am not sure if there is a "premium" for non club members but have emailed Alasdair to confirm.

I have put my name down.

Details are:-

24 August Knockhill Track Night

Following the success of April’s track night it has been decided to run another event. It will be held on Friday 24th August and follows the normal timetable (briefing at 5pm and track time between 6pm and 8pm). As before, the pre paid cost is £50 or £60 on the night. Additional drivers are £25 and £30. Please e-mail Alasdair Morrison at meadowgarage@hotmail.com to let him know you are coming along. Then send your cheque to Mr Nicholson, our revered Treasurer at 2 Mackie Crescent, Markinch, Fife, KY7 6BB.

Just a reminder to all that this event is happening again. Can you let Alasdair known ASAP if you wish to attend.

Stewart, what are their overtaking rules? Same as an SIDC day? I assume the driving standards are okay for a novice like myself to fit in okay? If so, I think I'll sign-up.

BTW Stewart, are you naked in that avatar picture?!!?!!!

Yep basically the same briefing. You may recall my long winded post after my first track night, well it was the AROC one on Friday the 13th  . I thought it was perfect for the novice. No disrespect, but the majority of the cars on track weren't particularly fast and there were no real track weapons there - other than the two evos which appear to live at KH. The track was very quite all night as I don't think they sold it out and a lot of the drivers seemed quite happy to sit in the pitlane and blether all night. Driving standard was the best of the 3 track sessions I have done so far - but all have been very good.

Wouldn't you like to know  . Actually I only noticed that after I changed my avatar. The picture is a couple of years old and I am confident that I was fully clothed on my lower half

Cheers for the info Stewart. I thought that was the one you posted up about, but couldn't remember (or couldn't be bothered searching!). I'll sign-up for this.

I don't think that will be a problem at all. I would imagine that the AROC members will get priority but this should still leave room for a good few of us.

Stewart, have you had confirmation back about booking up for this? I emailed that address, asking him to reply to confirm I'm booked on, but no reply. I'm not sending a cheque til they've confirmed. I'll drop him another email.

Don't want to fire off a cheque to someone I don't know until it's confirmed that I'm definitely doing the track night.

Cheers,
D
