Gutted doesn't come close.
For sale is my class A LOTRDC race car (READY TO RACE!), which i purchased merely 5 months ago specifically to do the race series. (i've also driven it to and from every event, including FF6!)
Since then it has completed all 5 rounds entered, recording, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishes, and is a very competitive car.
The car (currently number 44) is a 1996 P reg car. This is one of the early lighter models, and it has required ballast to get it up to the weight limit for the series (750kg). Without ballast it weighs 735kg.
Since buying the car in April it has gone significant changes from the standard car we started out with. More detail can be provided if required;
Engine change - a 6k mile Elise S2 135r engine, with Close Ratio Box was added. In addition the head has been flowed, slightly bigger valves added, vernier pulleys, and piper 285 cams. Also the Elise S160 exhaust manifold has been put on. It has a 52mm throttle body, and all parts used from the engine have been purchased from Elise Parts. This is managed by a new Emerald ECU. The car has been mapped properly by Dave Walker (who else ;0) ), and puts out 165bp at 6700rpm. This has cost approximately £3.5k and the oil has been changed 5 times in the last 4 months. It has a decat (cat also avail)
Brakes - new disc have been added at the front, and its uses rs14's all round. It has braided hoses etc.
Suspension - it uses Nitron suspension with 450 front springs and 550 rear - brand new. over £1k
Toe Links - upgarded toe links were added to cope with the demands of the A048's.
Battery - brand new - not a racing one as the car was too light already!
Tyres - runs on A048's M compound - new rears, fronts still have some miles left in them
Saftey kit - plumbed in fire extinguisher system, A frame roll bar and electrical kill switch. Luke 5 point harness in drivers seat, 4 point for pax. (installed by JPS) This alone cost more than £2k
The car has a current MOT and road tax, and has been maintained mechanically to a very high standard.
Reason for sale is house purchase - absolutely gutted to be leaving the Elise Trophy, which has been one of the best things I've ever done. (there are 2 races to go incidentally)
