First off, the boring bits:
1998 'R' 1.8i, Black, 88k miles, 2 owners from new, MOT May 10, Tax April 10.
The car is in fair nick for a 12 year old MX-5 that has seen some competition but has some corrosion on the rear wing panels and a few 'Forrestburn dings'. However, I will include weld-in rear wing repair panels with the car.
I've owned the car since May 2004 and it has been serviced regularly by myself (around 2 times a season regardless of mileage). This was last done in July 09 with fully synthetic 5W50 and the plugs were changed too.
Now the modifications:
Suspension:
Performance 5 Puredrive height adjustable coilovers
Racing Beat front ARB brace
Steve Heath Engineering adjustable ARB droplinks
Brakes:
Axxis Ultimate front pads (with spare rear pads)
Goodrich Braided Hoses
Exhaust:
Racing Beat S/S backbox
Safety:
Hard Dog Hard Core M2 Roll-over bar with double diagonals
Hard Dog bolt-in Harness Bar
Schroth Clubman 4-point Harness
Kirkey Aluminium Racing seat bolted to floor (non-adjustable)
Wheels:
14x6" Mazda allows with Pirelli P6000 (wheels car came with)
14x6" Mazda lightweight 1.8iS wheels no tyres (need refurb) - weigh 10lbs each
15x6" Mazda VR-Limited wheels with Marangoni Zeta Linea 195/50/15 + 1 spare Marangoni tyre
Included Spares:
Clutch Slave cylinder
Full set of Polybushes for wishbones (fronts fitted)
Various nuts, bolts, fixings
Original drivers seat
Low mileage OEM shocks and springs
2 Rear wing weld-in repair panels
Short-block engine (condition unknown)
The asking price is £2750 but I'll consider offers and maybe a p/x or swap (I'm looking ideally for an estate).
Extras by negotiation:
Nearly new custom-fit Cover-zone Voyager indoor/outdoor car cover £50
All in all, this would make a great starter package for someone getting into sprints/hillclimbs or even just for trackdays. Alternatively, change the seat back to the original and you have a great summer road toy. PLEASE NOTE THE WHEELS IN THE PICTURES ARE NOT WITH THE CAR - THEY'RE ALREADY SOLD.
If you're interested or you know someone who might be, phone/textme on 07880 585459 or PM me. Car is in Livingston and can be viewed any weeknight or most Fridays/Saturday/Sundays.
