NLC - d'Arenberg Dead Arm Shiraz Mixed Case **Now £400**

Post by Tom » Mon Sep 27, 2010 12:48 pm

As some of you may know my wife and I are moving to France. This means a change of employment meaning I'll no longer be working in the wine trade. As a result of this I've decided to sell off most of my (pretty small) collection as it's a real pain having to cart it all with us. So, I'm offering the following for sale (bottles not cases) in case anyone's into this sort of thing:

3 x 2005 (@£25 each)
3 x 2004 (@£35 " )
3 x 2003 (@£45 " )
2 x 2002 (@£55 " )
1 x 1999 (@£65)

Meaning a total of £490 so call it £450 but I'd be open to serious offers. NOW £400

If you don't know The Dead Arm see http://www.darenberg.com.au/products/th ... e-dead-arm They're on to the 2007 now with the '06 in the shops at the moment selling at c. £25-30. Most were bought at retail price with the older vintages being quite a bit more expensive as they're very difficult to get hold of (if at all). My plan was to buy a few every year and keep them for at least 10 years and then do a vertical tasting over however many vintages I'd have. I'm leaving the trade now so that's not going to happen (and they probably won't let me take that sort of thing into France anyway!). It's a mega wine that you could drink now, but I recently had a half bottle of '02 and it was still way too young. This is a wine that needs time (the '99 I'd leave for another 5 years easily).

Cheers,

Tom
