Triumph Spitfire 1500 for sale

Post by bertieduff » Mon Sep 25, 2006 5:28 pm

The old girl has gotta go....anybody fancy a winter project? Inca Yellow 1981 (W), one of the last, 80K miles, hard/soft tops. 'New' bonnet assembly (mint condition arizona import). Partially dismantled....decided to restore, then couldn't be arsed. Garaged past ten years. Was a good wee runner until I took a spanner to it. Make me an offer...if I get a couple of hundred quid I'll be happy. Or maybe part exchange for a packet of crisps and a VX220
Will take some pics if anyone interested.

Ah the good old Triumph Spitfire, Mac used to have one of these which he loved until the elise came along and alas the old spitty rusted in peace.

Still have a TR7 tho.

Good luck in your search for a buyer.

Yup, the only thing with a twitchier rear end than the elise, but fortunately with half the power and twice the weight. Otherwise i'd have been eating dirt by the grand old age of 18! My first car this and have got kinda attached to it.

Haven't seen any TR7's for ages Mand...yours still running? Always quite fancied the rally version. (Remind Mac how much he misses havin a Spitfire... )

TR7 is a non runner at moment although only because the gearbox has gone on it. Everything else on it should be ok if we tried to start it. We also have a spare engine for it which is a bigger engine I think but i dont think Mac will ever get around to fitting it

Shame to see these old cars going to waste but Mac just didnt have the time to keep up the work on the TR7 or the spitty due to work commitments. Maybe some day it will get back on the road.

Good luck with trying to find buyer, hopefully it will be someone who will look after it.
