Mini (R56) John Cooper Works 2009/’59’ (SOLD)

Post by Fluoxetine » Sun Sep 07, 2014 2:16 pm

BTT for a price drop - Now MOt'd till 21/09/15 and back on its original '59' plate :)

It's a 'factory' John Cooper Works - A model in its own right, with more power (208 bhp from a bigger turbo), Dynamic Traction Control from the 3 series (acts like an e-Diff), 4 pot Brembos at the front and a few other tweaks.

I’m the third owner, having bought it in May 2013 – As a late 2009 car, it benefits from the 2010 front bumper, with a larger splitter and brake ducts.

It was well spec’d from new:

Chilli pack (half leather interior with sports seats, xenon headlights, manual air-con, interior ‘mood’ lighting, 3-spoke leather steering wheel, multifunction computer).

And the following options were added:

Upgrade to full heated leather seats
Visibility pack (quick-clear heated front screen and wing mirrors / heated driver’s door lock /auto lights & wipers / Self dimming rear view mirror)
Tinted glass
Automatic climate control
Full Bluetooth
MINI Boost CD player with iPod Y cable
Arm rest with iPhone 4 dock (interchangeable)
Half leather / suede multi-function steering wheel with cruise control
Chrome-line interior
JCW mats

In addition, since purchasing the car I’ve added:

OEM JCW Recaro sports seats in alcantara – These are also heated, and were a £3k dealer fit option when new

OEM MINI Daylight Running Lights

OEM MINI GP2 rear diffuser

OEM LCI Black steering wheel inserts

(I have the original seats / diffuser / steering wheel inserts which will accompany the car when sold).

It’s been very well maintained, and serviced over and above manufacturer’s recommendations – Last service was August 2014, where it had plugs / all filters and engine oil changed, plus the latest turbo heat shield fitted at Menzies MINI.

They also changed out a faulty air-con condenser and recharged the system under warranty. (I have the official MINI warranty on the car, but unfortunately it’s non-transferable).

In July 2014 it had a full laser alignment and the geo reset to factory specs at CLCM.

In June 2014 it had all four wheels refurbished (complete with new centre caps) and four new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyres fitted in the correct 205/45 R17 size. I also obtained the OEM non-runflat tool tray for the boot cavity. (Has a compressor / puncture sealing solution).

In April / May 2014 it had all brake discs / pads / fluid replaced.

The car’s never let me down and been great fun to own – Just returned in late August from a 2200 mile trip around Europe, where it never missed a beat and coped remarkably well with both the autobahn and the Alps.

Located in the Hillfoots / FK12

Now sold - Thanks for the interest :)
