i fitted one of these far larger bore than a s1 and no weld slag either
side by side big differance but check the lambda threads are ok my s1
4 stud striped its threads removing the lambda hence required new manifold

Ideally you can source the heatshields too - they are much better on the S2, in the sense that they are much more robust - I am sure both S1 and S2 shields work from a heat shielding point of view.

I have a couple of spare S2 manifolds (one spanking new) and a 20K mile S2 downpipe (with good Lambda thread) if anyone is looking ... to replace one on an S1.
