56 all the way!
Mine is actually 55 at the throat. Bear in mind that is with a few engine mods too.
My calibrated backside dynamometer says that my 4-2-1 dragged the peak torque down from 5k+ to 4k and the bigger TB dragged it down to 3.5k. So I'm well chuffed. Traced the sticking to the throttle linkage at the pedal end too.
Horses for courses mate, the bigger TB gives an apparent quicker pickup as you get more throttle opening for a smaller movement of the pedal IYSWIM. I love mine, but without a few other mods it might be a waste of time (Until you buy a dremel and an old 1.4 head that is....)
Oh and TSF was knocking them out for significantly less than £100

Never said it was accurate!
What is more important on the road, going faster or feeling like you are going faster?

I have a Trophy 160 TB on my standard S1, from the moment we fitted it (well mostly Robin, as ever...), I have been very impressed. Only did it because of similar sticky behaviour from plastic original so no expectations of monster performance improvements! No evidence of leaning mixture, and pleasant improvement in throttle response. No doubt no change in V-max etc, but at least it don't stick when you need it to least of all!!!
Just get an aly [52mm] TB of whatever dia and be done with it.

I'm sure it's dreadful netiquette to quote your own posts, but Tom, please do see the above [my emphasis]

Text me if you need his number as I think he's got restricted access to here for some reason or other.
