LSD on eBay
Yea, an I honestly feel bad for not selling it to him. But having just been made redundant for the 3rd time in almost a year, means I really gotta try an get as much cash together as quickly as I can! If it doesn't go for well over what he offered (£100) I'll cancel the auction and it's his if he wants it.Lawrence wrote:didn't Stu offer you for this?

I have heard of companies that do 3D visualisations for oil companies, I think it was visualisations of future construction projects, health and safety stuff etc. Not sure who they are exactly but I'll have a search.
My problem for most of the oil related jobs is I have no engineering background.

Probably not relevant to you Scott, but my daughter Clare proved to be an eye opener this year as regards experience.
She took a year out before Uni after her Highers last year, and got a job with Shell, Aberdeen at £17K. No experience in anything naturally, but pretty bright. They put her in with a team working on water injection into the wells, started her off on Excell spreadsheets, then sent her away on a couple of courses.
She ended up coming up with a system that has saved them five million, and on her 18th birthday last month they laid on a big party, and presented her with a cheque for £1,000. In the old days it would have been a percentage, but she was happy with that.
She starts at Edinburgh in Sept reading maths, but the problem is that they now do not want to lose her, so are enticing her with salary and scholarship. However at her age, she does not want to tie herself down yet.
At least it has opended her eyes to the real world, previously she looked at joining the Army or Police Force, but when she found out that she could not start off as a Colonel or Superintendant, she dropped the idea.

Have a looksee at Landmark (a Halliburton company). They do some pretty interesting stuff with downhole/subsurface visualisation - maybe what you're thinking about? Unfortunately means working for the most immoral company in the world but you can't have everythingScottd wrote:I have heard of companies that do 3D visualisations for oil companies, I think it was visualisations of future construction projects, health and safety stuff etc. Not sure who they are exactly but I'll have a search.
