Elise S2 Type 72 - SOLD

Post by hendeg » Mon Feb 15, 2010 7:24 pm

I had planned to sell this car at the end of last year but for various reasons I never really advertised it.

My original post from August is below with a new price. It's only done about 300 miles since the C service and has been SORNed for the last few months. I'm about to get a new MOT and Licence before advertising it so I thought I'd give anyone here first crack.

PM me if you are interested.

Gary.

Elise S2 Type 72 (2002) - £12,995
33,000 miles
MOT until November
Taxed until December

The Elise Type 72 is a Heritage Edition car from Lotus, inspired by the John Players Special sponsored Lotus F1 cars of the 1970s.

It has had the following improvements;

- Janspeed Sports Exhaust with Sports Cat (sounds awesome)
- K&N Air Filter
- Yokohama Advan AD07 Tyres
- EliseParts Aluminium Belled Rotors
- Mintex brake pads

The car has just completed a major C Service at Murray Motors in Edinburgh 2 weeks ago.

We've owned this car since August 05 (15,500 miles) and will be disappointed to see it go. This is a great looking car. Comes with the usual stone chips that you would expect from an Elise of this age. It's been a weekend car, garage kept and never tracked.

This is some of the original sales material;

The Elise Type 72 shares many of the key strengths that made the Type 72 so successful, such as a lightweight aluminium chassis, GRP body and of course the world beating Lotus ride and handling.

With such close links it was an obvious source of inspiration for the first of the Heritage Collection Series. The Elise Type 72 reflects the racing heritage of the Type 72 with the Black and Gold livery. The two gold heritage "laurels", proudly displayed on either side of the metallic Starlight Black bodywork, mimic those placed on the rear wing of the Type 72 commemorating every race victory, while the new gold coloured wheels give the perfect finish to the exterior. The Black and Gold livery does not stop with the exterior, but carries over to the interior with effective use of golden Alcantara on the seat cushions, steering wheel centre and door panels. The heritage theme is continued with gold heritage "laurels" embroidered in the centre of each headrest and an exclusive Heritage Identification Plate, based on the design of the chassis plates of the Lotus Formula 1 cars, mounted on the dash board.
