7ft Slate Bed Pool Table - Light Oak with Red cloth

Post by gorrie » Tue Mar 20, 2012 5:36 pm

Operation Garage Clear-out continues:-

Regrettably, my pool table has to go. It used to get a lot of use when it was in the house, but after being badgered for years by Mrs G, I had to move it out to the garage. It's been in there for about 2yrs with a cover over it, and has been used I think only once since it's move... unless you count leaning bikes against it as 'using it'.

I bought this brand new around 2006 from a snooker/pool table company in Leeds. From memory, I think the table design is called 'Royal'. It's light oak in colour, slate bed covered in red cloth, with chromed corner caps. The turned legs have screwed in adjustable feet for levelling. End ball return, and it's been built as a freeplay table (so no ugly hole where you would have the coin mechanism if you bought an ex-pub table).

Condition wise, I'd say it's 'good'... certainly better than most tables you will see in your local boozer (and many of the pub ones are only 6ft). The reason I'm not saying excellent is because whilst there are no rips/tears in the cloth, there are a couple of small patches where I can see that my kids have been having a go behind my back, and therefore the occassional patch with less fuzz. I'm probably being overly critical, but if you wanted it like new it's not that pricey to have it re-covered.
Buyer collects... although I'll certainly help you dismantle & load it. A transit van would be ideal & I'd suggest 3 men for moving the slate bed (or some kind of wheely thing plus 2 men). The wooden parts dismantle quite easily, so are simple enough.
Do not underestimate how heavy the slate is & turn up on your own!! I did manage to move it from house to garage with just myself & wife... but this almost caused divorce with the language coming from me. There are people who specialize in the delivery & set up of 2nd hand pool tables if you don't want to take a chance.

From memory, it was around £800 delivered (not including balls/cues)... so I'm offering it up here at just £400. If no takers, I'll shove it on Gumtree in a day or so at slightly above that price. I'll supply the red/yellow balls, triangle, table brush & the 3 cheapy cues in the pictures. I used to have red chalk.. if I find it, you can have it too.. haha.
{EDITED: Found 2 red chalks plus a further cue... a decent one with screw on extensions etc.. so you can have that too if you want it}
Now some pictures:-

Excuse the dust on the legs... it is a garage after all. Photo's above were taken today.
