Now Sold!
After a lot of time deliberating, I've finally decided to put up my Golf for sale.
It's a really special little car, but I don't really have the time at the moment to do anything with it.
The story behind it is that a friend of mine built it from the ground up in about 2000 - starting with a new bodyshell. I bought it in about 2002/3 and used it for a couple of years. After that it sat first of all in a garage, then in my mum's driveway and finally her garden.
Specs are as following:
Golf Mk1 5-dr shell, sprayed in Lhansa Green
1.8i Digifant engine, ported and producing about 130bhp.
Koni suspension
Full Gti interior with a retrim in Green leather - looks amazing
I have a folder filled with receipts, which detail a lot of the work that went into it.
It still starts and runs, but will need some work before returning to the road. The main issues are:
The immobiliser, after working fine all these years has suddenly stopped working correctly. I have a feeling it might need a new fob, but for the moment it can be manually bypassed each time you want to start the car. Obviously this wouldn't be ideal long term, but it could either be bypassed permanently or a new fob ordered.
I'd recommend a service, plus a clean up of the brakes and a change of the belts - just due to the fact it's been sitting around.
There is some rust on the front valance, which would need to be repaired before the front splitter can be reattached.
It also needs a damn good clean!
Price wise, I have no idea so offers invited! Car is located in Edinburgh.
