Craig,
That's a tidy looking car. Indeed, the very sort I'd hoped for when I bought my 99 T S1 however I'd already ordered my standard car and couldn't afford to change to the 135 sport spec.
Are you really sure about a Sport 160? (Stop listening now Stu!). It's considered a poorer limited edition, the engine does just about deliver its 160bhp obviously but it's well lumpy at low revs and considered a bit of a "crude" edition. No C/R gearbox as standard, for example. Albeit the Victory alloys are verree tidy. You could probably get 150bhp from your 135 with some breathing upon the head and next step up on cams...ask Robin, he did something along these lines with his first silver S1 and it was a flyer.
I also do know someone looking into buying an S1 but think this might be above his budget.

"What he said"
When I was looking at S160s before the Exige I think I got a lucky escape. Especially for what I need it for (everyday use). When I was in contact with someone they said it was the best car since sliced bread and very useable everyday. Since then he has sold it on and I've noticed his posts on SELCOCK and Pistonheads that although he liked the S160, it was tempermental and not suitable for everyday.....so I guess I was just getting his sales patter.
Just look what the 135R is capable of. With your car you're halfway there. Get some trick suspension, sticky tyres and perhaps some PTP treatment to get it up to 165bhp although leave the PTP until last and see how you get one with suspension and tyres.
Of course, I'm the last one to give advice. I get an idea in my head and never let it go. Kinda like having a itch that's gotta be scratched!
