http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/105706.htm

Seen this car posted on almost every website possible.
Also read the owners posts on SELCOCK or MLOC - cant remember what one.

Why do you think it is so cheap? Seems a decent spec and a lovely looking car.

I like the look of it.

I posted a similair thread on Scottish Sevens asking "How bad could it be!!?".

As Ali will respond, as long as the chassis is ok most things could be replaced or fixed.

Prime candidate for a Honda or Audi conversion?

Only problem the 7 would have to go as couldnt justify both, and I swore I wouldnt own another Lotus after my S2, but hey, life' short.

It reads very well and not too high a milage. It has a lot of addons that would probably add up to about £1,500 if you were to strip them and replace with standard items.
It is at an age/milage where it is very likely that it will need balljoints, wheel bearings, suspension bushes, perhaps brake disks. He does say that it has a good service record so there is chance that many of these things have been taken care of. If you are in the market for an S1 this already has all the addons you would spend money on getting if you bought a standard one.

I remember last Christmas watching an eBay auction for what seemed a very tidy car, I think it went for about £7k at that time. I would imagine as winter kicks in there may well be bargains to be had, but will they be any better than this? You Decide

Decat pipe (fitted) - £120

actually about £30

Hurricane induction kit (the red one) - £200

about £170

slightly suspicious of someone overselling a £7k car

That is a damned good car at that price Ross, especially with the useful mods, Nitrons, S160 wheels, and surprisingly, MMC brakes which he must have retro fitted.

I remember sourcing a 111S last year for someone and they were going for £14K.
