S1 Vhpd complete
Selling my vhpd engine and gearbox from my s1. As many of you know I fitted the engine at the start of the year with 14k on it, since then ive done 5k. When I first fitted the engine it was dynoed at jap performance with 200bhp. The engine would come with all usual ancilleries including gearbox and loom only thing you would need is an emerald or buy mine for an extra 450. This will drop straight in to a s1 with no modifications all you will need is an exige throttle cable to fit the Titan dthtb's. I will also include the carbon air box which from lotus cost over 400pounds. Im looking for around 2400 pounds and if your interested your welcome to try the engine in my car.(until mid nov) Contact me on 07795063252 Cheers Craig.
Heres my new engine, comes with a warranty and am assured that the front end damage has not touched the engine. Wont arrive till next week so till then Im like a kid on christmas eve, cant wait. More annoyingly I ordered two gauges for my car about three months ago, one stoichiometric another fuuel pressure. totally forgot about them andthey arrive today. Nightmare is I think the lambda on the honda is a wideband so sensor wont work ( I think). Anyway let me know what you think. Craig.

PS anybody with advice on the conversion please just say, im open to all ideas.

What ECU does it have (almost certainly KPro) from the pic its also get a GruppeM airbox, by far the best you can get for the Type R.
A decat exhaust specially made to suit would be best.
Depending on what boost you are happy to run on the s/charger you should be looking at 280-300bhp with 9psi and the engine mapped correctly.
Very rough guide....
8 psi - No problems - 280ish BHP
9 psi pully kit - No problems - 280-290ish BHP
11 psi (9psi kit with K24 bottom end pully) No problems as far as i know- 310ish BHP
I am a mod on the Civic Type R forum so I have posted in the mods section for a pdf of the workshop manual, hopefully someone will have a copy.

Thanks Kenny, thought that you would come through.
A bit of a lottery as to what the spec will be. Not likely to be a K-Pro, but hopefully at least a K100 with a re-flash. The street spec Jackson S/C in the States has to meet CARB approval, so uses their so called Power Card for recalibration, which together with the 4" pulley and 440cc injectors, only gives 211hp at the wheels.
Their race spec kit is not CARB approved, uses a 3.4" pulley, 550cc injectors, and a re-flashed K100 or K-Pro ECU, and gives 257hp at the wheels, around 290 flywheel.
If he has the former, than he can up it by using a 3.4" pulley, changing to 550cc injectors, then either getting the K100 re-flashed for the new spec by a Hondata dealer, or paying $500 to change to a fully re-programmable K-Pro, a la Emerald.
Either way, should be enough for him to now be able to keep up with me.........
