There's an argument that, if it's kept a minter, you could use the build number as leverage when selling. It's not gonna be worth millions or anything, but handled correctly when selling, it could command a small premium.

It also depends on how long you keep hold of it for.
I'm a classic car nut - rebuilt spitfires and TR7's in the past.
Got a bit fed up with it and decided that rather than rebuild an old car, I would get a new car and keep it as a classic.
I fully intend on running around in my elise when I'm in my fifties - if you keep it that long then yes, your car would a fair bit more than mine.
