Good choice!

I had two impreza STI PPP's before my current elise. Loved the realiability and practicality. Never had a problem with either in 60,000 miles each. It may not give the ultimate satisfaction of the lotus, but for a 4 door saloon it is a marvel of modern science!!!

enjoy! :D

I know I know the Exige looks better but can it do this

Andy, I looked into getting a removable swan-neck towbar but they are no use for the bike rack. The car has the Prodrive pack which gives a claimed 305bhp , I don't have to use the gears as much as the Exige because there is plenty power from about 3000rpm instead of 6200.
Was speaking to a guy at Ullapool petrol station on Saturday who knew you - we got chatting to a bunch of bikers who turned out to be the Dundee Biker's Forum - red-haired guy who knew you thru the scrambling scene - small world, eh? :D

Thats good to hear, I had a look on the Scooby forums before buying the car but like most forums all you hear about are the bad points.
Did you have a non-standard silencer? I have the Prodrive exhaust but would like it just a little bit louder.
cheers

Not sure who that would be, did you get his name? It could have been Alex Walker the tune-up guy who rides a black Yamaha YZF-R6.

Lee... my mate had the Prodrive exhaust as part of the PPP on his STI. He ditched it in favour of an H&S instead. Yes, it's louder.
I have no signature.

Car looks lovely, really do like the blue/gold combo although personal favourite is black/gold.

The Scooby is a great point to point car and amazes how fast it can go for a "family" saloon.

Just make sure you pull over for Evo owners when we are on your tail, as you know we are faster :D

I like the white /gold ones best but I think they are all imports , only ever seen one.
Don't worry I'll let any Evo owners past but I'll no doubt pass them further up the road while they have stopped for a service :D

The jigsaw falls into place!

I thought I recognised his boat-race - the Tune-Up guy it was!

It's not that bad, ok they do require a service every 4500 miles but that is just a diff oil change. The next service is the usual type of service for a car.

Just had the Evo serviced and it was a reasonably big one with all the fluids needing changed, £351. Cheaper than an "A" service on an Elise :D

Ended up going to Murrays Mitsubishi in Stirling, they gave me a Citreon C3 as a courtesy car, boy was that lacking in power but bit better than the usual Wagon R you got from MMC

For info a good tuner for Subaru's is Extreme in Whitburn as a lot of the guys go to them. Very proffessional and really helpful. They also have a Rolling Road in case you want to find out how much bhp your car has. Mine turned out a healthy 385bhp at engine and 300bhp at wheels so was really please

Just don't do any top speed runs or you'll melt no.3 piston.

Nice car though I think that shape is my favourite. 8)

And don't listen to all the turbo 4x4 haters. They all hanker after forced induction and better traction.

Hi again,

I just had the standard PPP exhaust. It was plenty loud for me and the neighbours!

White STI type UKs have been available non import since late 04 i think.

Just wait till you jump into it on a cold winter day, and the heater works in no time at all and can toast your hands!....lol
