Donnington Pictures

Here are a few pictures taken over the Donnington weekend.

I must say it was a great weekend, and the company was out of this world. Cant wait to do it again.

Many thanks to all who took me out on passenger laps. Robbie,Stewart, Andy, and John.

I've got a bucketload of track pictures, just pulling them onto Picasa on the desktop now but will be a couple of days before I can sift and publish the sharpest ones. Was my first time trackside with the "big" digital camera so lots of variable results!

Got no social pics at all, so thanks for these Stew, nor pitlane as I couldn't be bothered to get up early enough to get a special wristband, so thanks again Stew!

Kinda wished I'd stopped on the way home for a go at next year's calendar pic but Ian and I were having too much fun driving over the northern Pennines amongst zero traffic to be stopping 8)

What's the collective verdict on the 2-11?

Tut was in full lady killer attire!

Nearly fell off my chair when he came in dressed up, out of tracky's and with shoes on.

He scrubbed up well, and the ladies of nottingham were spellbound

Well I wasn't very close to it but what I saw of it on track and in static display is very nice. It seems very capable. Perhaps not the runaway unique success that the Elise originally was, but probably has the potential for future one-make racing and presumably to give some of the other racer-specials a wee run for their money as a trackday weapon?

Guess it may still be considered expensive by some, but if you have the cash for such a "toy", and the attendant trailer and towcar etc, then probably a very credible option!

I think I would rather have a 340R though. Much more interesting.

I think that is where it either falls down or suceeds Campbell. IMO the 2-11 has to be viable as road car. If your in the market for a track toy with attendant trailer and towcar then there are much more foucussed and/or cheaper alternatives.

I can't help thinking they should have given it a 340R esque windscreen and nicer rollcage.

I haven't driven one so can't comment but if you wanted to win the Scottish Hills/Sprint championship...I think a 2-11 (in class A8, Marque Sports Cars) would be pretty much unbeatable.

Sounds like a pretty informed view Ali.

Spot on re: windscreen and rollbar. It does often remind me of Radicals and the like...just not quite as unique as your usual "Lotus Special". Without the paint job, it could even be called bland ;-)

Now, in Scandal Green or Chrome Orange...maybe they'd get away with it!

RE - 2-11: the Atom was clawing it in the wet, despite no abs, or Tc and a huge amount of sideways action. i might have been trying harder though tbh!

When i caught Gav K he was pulling in, which was a shame, as he can really drive it. Suspect its just as well though, or the Atom may have taken to the grass keeping up :P

Suprised though, i thought i would have been destroyed in the wet!

Still, think i need a shot to have a really informed view point :D
