Mark (Ryallm) 3 Series Touring

Post by allyrennie » Thu Mar 12, 2009 11:30 pm

A few pics from a session today folks on Marks new BMW:-

Brief rundown on the process. Car rinsed off then soaped with foam gun. Plates removed, Its amazing the s*it that gathers behind there ( see pic ).
Hand washed and soaped again before rinsing ( altough the rain was just about taking care of that ).

The joys of a diesel! Engine was degreased using a mild detergent through the foam lance then power washed off.

Whole car then clayed with autobalm mild clay to remove the tar spots of which there were many. Front wing indicators removed to enable me to clean behind these.

The car was showing a few battle scars, mainly to the rear and one of the doors. Machine compounding these with a firm pad ( German paint can be very hard to cut ) and a medium grade compound ( Equavalent to 1500 Grade W&D ).

This was then followed up with Meguiars #80 speed glaze topped off with 2 coats of dodo juice supernatural V2 wax.

Wheels were changed over to a new set that Mark had bought.

Comments welcomed as always, cheers!

Ally

Big thanks to Ally for doing such a truly outstanding job on the car. It really is transformed :D . I bought the car privately for much less than the book price, but did make the schoolboy error of going to see it in the rain which hid a lot of minor scuffs and scratches (I know, Muppet :( ). I was amazed how well Ally managed to remove most of these .

The wheels also make a huge difference - they came off an 06 325i, bought off ebay for a bargain price. Tyres are up from a rather under endowed 205/55 16 all round to 225/45 17 at the front and huoooge 255/40 17 at the back. The standard wheels look lost in the arches, especially at the rear - the car now looks as Mr Bangle intended 8) Thanks again to Ally for going the extra mile in cleaning 2 sets of wheels and fitting the new ones, especialy as the old ones were seized and apparently a bugger to get off.

One happy customer :thumbsup

Mark

Nice car Mark (you do like silver)! Enjoy.

Good job Ally as always. Have you emailed me the SV photos?

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.
