Good effort getting all that in plus the dog. He must be well behaved in the car. (we use a cage for our hyper spaniel so no chance of taking him in the 'liz.)

P.S. leave the car in gear as he looks like he could take the car with him if he decides to go for a stroll.

Good to see so many other adventurers out there, although I don't think you can call a scabby caravan site in Boat of Garten an adventure?
Who's up for an elise camping weekend? I know a great camping beach near achiltiebuie

Roof:
The two thin springy cross-bars go behind the seats or on top of the boot heat-shield as usual (depending on age of S1).

Then the rest goes in the front.

Take the can of foam out (assuming it hasn't fallen out already - mine usually lived in the undertray) and put it in the boot.
Slide the two roof side-bars down the side of the radiator.
Roll up the roof nice and tight and lie it round the top of the radiator over the washer bottle and whatever other bits are there, then shut the bonnet.

Can't remember exactly what it looks like when it's done as I ain't got me no Elise no more (hark, world's tiniest violin), but it does work. I think I recall considering snapping off the tire-foam spring clip for ease, but managed to avoid this in the end. If I hadn't been told it was possible, I'd have thrown a tantrum and given up, but just keep shifting and stuffing until the bonnet closes.

Stuff sacks:
Much easier than the roof. Fill 'em, squish 'em and stuff 'em down where the tire foam was and round the top too. If the bonnet won't close, you can always take some out.

Job's a carrot. :thumbsup

Happy days, camping with the Elise. :)

Two tents, two sleeping bags, two sleeping mats, two guys, food and drinks, disposable bbq's, clothes and stuff, all in the boot of an S2.

Impressive. Though maybe won't be so kind on any roof coloured other than black!

The stuff sack thing has real potential though.

All in all, learning to pack your Elise has massive spin off benefits. When you have two kids at 2 and under, a double buggy, a bunch of other kiddie kit and only a 3-door Golf to transit the whole family of four on a camping trip, it's amazing what you can cram in based on one's Elise experience :thumbsup

The "Campaganza" format has been on the go in SE for some years now, I doubt you'll find it hard to get a few takers for a trip to a site a bit off the beaten track.

I personally want to get back to Shore campsite, Achmelvich, later this year though may do that with the family in the Blue Barge. But I also wouldn't mind at least one SE Campaganza to which I can bring the Elise, if I can arrange a pass, and sites at Arisaig have caught my interest of late.

Other recommendations anyone?

Campbell, I was thinking of organising another Campaganza like the one at Brighouse Bay last year, but definitely want to do it earlier this year (even the communal wine didn't heat us up in September!! hehe)

Happy for you to organise something too, but was thinking of doing Brighouse Bay again in August. Waiting til after 050709 to organise though. Happy to go with another location though if people prefer.

Cool.

Think we are off to Brighouse next weekend as a family, if that works out well then happy to revisit.

There is something really special about getting way up northwest though ;-)

I can't commit to organising something at present though that may change as the summer wears on (read: if my desperation to get away from it all deepens to crisis point!)

And the upgrade of the road from Lochailort to Arisaig has finally been finished, some interesting parts to it too.
