Day 2 and we all headed to the Acropolis, via some sights in Athens. It looked quite small from street level but when you get to the Acropolis, its MASSIVE!! Absoultely amazing. Afterwards we went to the New Acropolis Museum. It had only opened on the Saturday before we arrived. Really nice museum. If any of you are going to Athens, a visit to this museum is a must. Beware though - the floors are made of glass so when you look up, you can see everyone walking above you. Good job I wore 3/4 length trousers that day!! I also met someone there (see pic below) and I admit I got a little star struck! A few pics from Day 2:

The start of the new Acropolis Museum (apologies for the quality-I was being jostled about a fair bit)

Me and the Grand Designs Legend! Apologies for the photo quality-my camera ran out of batteries just before this and had to use my iphone. The camera on that phone is cr@p!!

The next day we went to Delphi where the Oracle was said to have been based. We sat on a bus for 3 and a half hours, spent and hour and a half looking at the ruins, spent an hour in the village for lunch and got on the bus for the journey home for another 3 and a half hours. A little unessesary as most of the students were bored out of their skull but Im glad we went. Some pics:

A lot of the stones had writing inscribed

Some good driving roads

I like this pic:

Next day we went on our 3 day cruise round some of the Greek Islands. On the Friday evening, we arrived at Mykonos, really nice place, really quaint. Next day we went to Rhodes (my favourite) and played our second concert on the cruise ship. On the Sun, we went to Patmos, then Kusadasi, Turkey. Some pics:

The day we arrived back in Athens, we went to Cape Sounion, where the Temple of Poseidon is. Really beautiful place.

We had our last concert that night, then the next day we went to a shopping mall which was next to the new Olympic Stadium then we left the day after.
It really was a great trip, most school trips never go as smoothly as this one did and Im positive it was down to the amount of organising that was done and the respect the kids have for the conductor of the band. It is a trip that will never be forgotten, by the staff and the students.
Well folks, thanks for reading! Sorry it goes on for so long!
