Our double is still here, now folded sadly in a corner, retired...but as it's a double I doubt it's of use to you...yet ;-)
Disagree on needing 3 wheeler. I don't like 3 wheelers cos their either too long wheelbase for town work, etc (like Phil & Teds IMHO) and often v heavy; or too short wheelbase to be stable offroad on side slopes or strong cross-winds (kind of like a wheelbarrow IYSWIM). We have a Bugaboo (I know, I know... hideous yuppy wanabee image that takes some seeing past!) but with it reversed so large wheels at the front it goes effortlessly through/across anything East Lothian offroad has been able to throw at it (we live in the sticks) and does not make you have to fight to keep it upright in strong side winds, because the wider footprint is at the front... yet still a compact wee machine for weaving through the narrowest and snakiest shop aisles.

Fair points Jason!

Our only experience is with a double 3-wheel, of course (Out n About Nippa Double, fixed front wheel)...2 up and not even the strongest x-wind is going to displace it ;-)

We worked with an impressive 4-wheel single Pliko P3 for Eilidh and then James, and a very portable and "OK to be hashed about" 4-wheel Chico as well. Neither were that great "offroad". But despite its sheer size (albeit made it through our front door just), the Out n About was always a popular choice. It felt rugged, had great weather protection, and has traversed some very tricky parts of Scotland and the Lake District!

Each to their own at the end of the day...and I agree that many "fashion" 3-wheelers are probably not up to the job away from a pavement...but for anyone facing the prospect of needing a double buggy, the Out n About stuff is genuinely good gear in my experience.

Albeit I am glad to see the back of the lot of them and can't recall the last time I put either of our two into a buggy...James is only 2 and a bit but is well up for walking...or scootering...EVERYWHERE. Great stuff.

Campbell

PS - sorry for off-topic. May be we need an SE Juniors sub-forum for this kind of thing, it seems to be becoming a little more common around here ;-)
