Cairn o mount this morning

Post by ClarkyBoy » Fri Dec 18, 2009 10:29 am

Morning Guys,

i left edinburgh this monring at 0630 to go to work in Echt, near Banchory today as i was down for my girlfriends birthday last night, decided to take the cairn o mount road over - and let me tell you, it looks awesome right now - certainly wouldnt be out on it today in colin's 340R today thats for sure, see below pics, you may recognise the bridge as the one some of us crossed on the xmas run...when i got my feet wet - that wouldnt have happened today thats for sure,

the pictures are crap as they were taken on my whackberry - but at least it has inspired me to go out and buy a semi decent camera tomorrow!!!

Our attempt at the pass last year was comedy, approaching Strathblane in a whiteout and nearly a foot of snow thinking maybe this wasn't a smart idea

ps. give me a bell if we get some good snow I am off for 2 weeks, some snow mountainbiking as well maybe :thumbsup

i used to drive through more snow than that on the way to work........woooofters.

But then that was Montreal.

Taking the 7 series skiing to Mont Tremblant on the "back roads" was often more fun than the skiing :damnfunny

You are all Woofters.

Me and Chris G at The Leight. Car was never in a straight line on the road up which was funny until I relised how much a drop there was. Cup of Tea at the top then drove like a fairy all the way down.

Great stuff!

Me and IainF had a legendary run to the Lecht in Elises a few years back, top down all the way in subzeros, being splashed by the slush spray from trucks we were passing through Drumochter. Car park was inches deep, roads weren't too bad at the end of the day but still managed a slowmo spin into a snowbank en route towards Corgarff, one of the scariest moments I've ever had in the Elise!

Robin drove Ross's old Civic CRX up to meet us for a night out in ABZ, could hear it coming from about Braemar I think.

Ah those were the days.

Couple of galleries...

Trip to Lecht in Feb 2005, whilst staying at Craigendarroch (Ballater) while Lisa was expecting Eilidh. It dumped it down. So I got a pass for the day, she headed for the Spa! The drive there was as much fun as the 'boarding (it was a weekday so I had the place to myself):

And then the legenday Club Lotus Donnie trip in March 2007...homeward via the Yorkshire Dales in snow on Maxsports ;-) The shot at the church in Buckden was my first success in the SE Calendar of the following year!
