i still need to research a bit more though.
how much roughly does it cost to re-fresh the engines?
could always stick a k20 or even and f20 in it!!!
Speak to mr mckeann about Linda conversions. A true salesman, he is ;)

Don't know about VHPD refreshes - never had one and my engine 'refreshes' usually centre around ripping one out and stuffing another in!

Autocar.... or as I call it bullsh*t monthly....

Maybe they are, but it'd take a helluva lot of work and would probably involve strangling the engine even more :( Can't see it being any benefit to us - unless someone wants a 90hp 1.8 that puffs vaporised evian out the exhaust...
I thought the K was pretty good on emmisions, even more so in VVC form? thought it was in one of the lower road tax brackets? What else needs to be done to make it US compliant? Cup holder on the cam cover?

It's not US compliant but Euro 4 emissions compliant. There was a quote from the Kimberley guy who's in charge of Lotus now. I'm not sure what needs done either as the emissions are lower than the 'yota cars :?

Spend mega bucks letting the yanks "approve" it.

Sometimes the cars are just better not being sent stateside - look at the daft bumpers on the MG's and the reduction in power on the spitfires when they tried to sell them across the pond.

Mac
S2 Elise (cobalt blue with stripes) - toy spec
Caterham 7 - hillclimb spec
Yamaha Thundercat - 2 wheeled toy spec

I think for US approval the engine has to be able to 'run' for 100,000 miles with no problems. Not sure if oil changes etc are allowed, but certainly HGF would not be acceptable
Green Subaru Impreza Turbo, a 'classic'.

Silver Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD, on SORN spec...

Black Disco 3, black van man spec...
