Many thanks for submitting your pictures. I am now setting up the poll for the voting so won't be accepting any more pictures for this years voting.

We now have 123 photographs believe it or not and as we did say that any photos that were put in the calendar thread (within reason) would be included in the vote, we've rather a few too chose from! Also the voting poll only takes 10 photos at a time (it would be good if it could take more - can a Mod tell me otherwise) and everyone is going to have to plough through a lot of pics to pick their favourite 12 rather than have them set out in months at a time.

As I am off on holiday from next Saturday (22nd October), I intend to have the voting up and running for the 2+ weeks that I am away so that when I come back I can just get the photos from the winners and get them to the printers as it will be the 3rd week of November by that point.

If you could keep your photos of the 22nd October run for 2013, that would be appreciated.

Also, your bookatrack photos are currently sitting in the calendar thread, they are included just now. Can you let me know what you want to do with them as I am about to get this up and running within the next few days.

So, the Spa pics are good to go

As for voting, I think polls are indeed limited to 10 options each. This exposes an unexpected advantage of month by month categorisation I guess!

You could always adopt a low-tech approach, whereby you give each photo a unique number, then just ask people to post their top 12 (or 13, if you need a cover, can't remember?). Then lob all the sets of 12 or 13 numbers into Excel and do countifs for each. This will reveal a top 12 or 13 overall. Happy to help with the Excel plugging if you wish.

Alternative might be to go external to SurveyMonkey but might get messy.

And lastly, maybe we do need to go back to month by month sets.

Thanks Campbell. To be honest, I don't have the time to look in to external surveys for this years calendar but worth thinking about if we do it this way next year. I may well have to put the photos in to months however I would rather not as there are a lot of "the same" type of pictures i.e. - 7 shots taken of different cars at Knockhill at the same corner so I'd rather leave it up to everyone to pick their top 12 and be honest about having picked 12 and not any more. I've had a look at the poll system and there is no way to stop anyone from picking say 30 pictures out of the 123 but hopefully no-one will be click happy out there!

Any other comments welcome from anyone or a quick "idiots guide" for me on how to set up an external survey would be appreciated.

Thanks for the offer Jen but I did it all last night - well put them in to photobucket and saved them by the persons name etc. It's just the uploading of the poll that needs to be done and that's on the agenda for tonight. It was the logistics of how to do this without them being in months that was driving me mad last night but I am just going to do 11 pages of 10 pics and folks will just have to pick their favourite 12. Watch out for the voting tonight.
