A little harsh, considering the cost/sheddiness ratio of your current toy ;)

Shug,

Looks pretty mint, is it a ZX-7RR or ZX-9RR?

Just be careful of carb icing if you are planning to use it during the inclement months as I think I can remember reading that they could be bad for that.

It does look pretty mint and the owner not been very far over on the front tyre :)

It's a 7R (the RR was the homologation special - flatslides were bad for icing and sticking, but I've not heard it being an issue on the standard carbs)

Much better nick than my Elise that's the same age, although it's not been as 'loved' as the Elise! Tyres are pretty new, but the seller did say he was selling it as he couldn't get the best out of it. Couple of faring scrapes from car park drops (just sticker damage really) and that's it. Needs a top-end service, but that's booked.

Not had enough time on it as I've been away, but I'm loving it so far. Not the most obvious choice as a first bike, but it's stable, it's got a bit of weight and nice smooth power delivery. Probably about the same wheel HP as a current supersports 600, but no need to spin at 15000rpm to achieve it. Still regarded as one of the best front ends in the business and I can see why - so confidence inspiring, like Elise steering.

Plan on saturday?

Leave early from Glasgow say 9ish, the normal callender tyndrum route then carry on till Oban for lunch. Then turn round and head to dalmally and inverary, on to Dunoon for the ferry. Means shug is slightly closer to home and iirc the rest and be thankful road is still closed due to landslide.

If we're leaving Glasgow at 9 then there's no need for me to stay overnight mate - I'm usually up at 8 anyway, so a bit earlier is no real hassle. Whereabouts in the Weej is the usual meet?

If you think it's a better idea for me to stay over for being a bit fresher, that's cool, but it's no hassle for me to be there for 9.

i prefer to go inverairy first then over to tyndrum as i didnt like the route that much in the opposite direction.

Traffic scotland says the road past rest and be thankful is now open normally :thumbsup

Shug, the "normal" meeting point seems to be my house, but i think my neighbours would be happy with somewhere else - say outside HG on Gt Western Road ? Either that or the BP garage at ....umm.... that hospital on Gt Western Road.

I'd say the callender tyndrum direction is a better bet as we can finish in dunnoon rather than callender but not too fussed either way.

If Jon is leaving Glasgow at 9... I'll leave at about 10 and catchup at the Welly then....

FFS... it's the weekend.... do we really need to get up so fecking early?? Even leaving at a sensible time (like we did for the last oban run)... we'll be home in time for tea (if we don't stop to play with iPhones every 20 mins!)

You are obsessed with the dunoon road ! Any excitement there is quickly removd when you get to greenock and have miles of 30mph road followed by the m8 :thumbsdown

We can go up and down on the same road you know

Dave - man up and get out your scratcher a bit earlier. Half nine start as a compromise ?

HG's probably easy enough for me. Remind me, do they do Shoei? I have a hankering...

Yes they do. :thumbsup

The thought behind the BP garage was that we could get fuel there, red bull for dave and then not have to stop for a while.

I'd say 10am at BP would suit everyone? Then you can make a pitstop at HG if you wish (ill probably join you)

I'm struggling to think of the BP garage, but I'll maybe meet you at HG beforehand, sound good?
