Good to hear that the 'box is nice to use- didn't realise it did the auto-blip thing on downshifts- wonder if the diesel does it too?
My brothers M3 SMG is an 05 too so I'd be comparing it to that. To be honest auto mode in the SMG is jerky and terrible, but good to hear that the 335 isn't at the other end of the scale with a slushy auto.
I haven't driven a real auto since a '98 Corsa so I'd probably be quite impressed

. And if the paddles are intuitive and easy to use then I'm sold.
Right, where's my cheque book........

Mate, you know my thoughts, I'd have one of them, a RR and a Lotus S1 160 in Scandal green!

700lb ft doesn't sound right. 700Nm would be more like it - still monster torque by any standards.
There was a post on one of the BMW forums a while back from a guy who had knackered his 335d gearbox after a few months with a DMS chip. The bill was hoooooge

The way things are on the roads now with regulations, I would be happy to drive a 1.1 Corsa if I was not on a road run.

The tuner must be telling your mate fibs!! I think the transmission melts at anything near 700
Nm
The is the conversion (with better suspension) my friend bought

Thats the reason I went with one of the removeable options, and will be keeping it a "safe" 380ish bhp with 550nm - less chance of stressing the nuts off it, and can remove for warranty-times...
tut, have you wandered into the wrong thread again, corsas?

Your RS6 is the only car I have been in that is similar in the power-delivery to the 35i.
I think the big6 would still dominate at the higher numbers though, plus I cant get a pram, a set of golf sticks and a powakaddy in mine all at once like you do

Nah, just that you can not use the power of almost any car on the road nowadays, never mind outputs like that, if you want to keep you licence.
Agreed that the acceleration is great and addictive, but I reckon you have almost more chance of picking up points when you use that acceleration to pass a slower car, or group of cars, even though you were under the speed limit, and go back under. That is where mine came from, you go to pass as quickly as possible from 50 but it takes you 30 above, so if there is a CamVan or Radar car in the same place you are nabbed.
In a less powerful car you are going to have to allow a greater distance and you will be at a lower overtake speed.

Sat at 75 all the way up from London the other day on the cruise, 36.2mpg. £58 got 488 miles.
Been just driving about town, short journeys last few days and its showing 25. So not that bad really.

That's pretty impressive really.....wonder how the 35d compares?
How was the 35d to drive compared to the 35i, much in it?
Once you get it chipped swing by for my test drive

Very good looking car and as you point out it makes the all important tasty noise
Not far off being given an company car so await to hear how your experience pans out
Presumable the ride is pliant but no M3 style bordering on uncomfortable in town ?
Back seats kiddy friendly ? Perhaps not an issue for you but iso-fix is king for me
I am a huge fan of German cars. They work out of the box and have been honed over many iterations so they are very much "ronseal" in my opinion
Had any late night roundabout fun yet ?
Enjoy Cal
