Thought this might be interesting as there's not many left now.

My one and only kit car which was built with no expense spared.

Kougar Sports (3.8S, hi-comp Jag) bought/built in '84. The engine was built new in Coventry as a favour. Unfortunately it lifted a cam follower sleeve on my way to France just after it was run in and had to be rebuilt in London on-route.

But It was a wonderful car, especially through tunnels, and I kept it for 10 years.

Take care,

Frank

I've had loads of different cars but these are the not so obvious shopping trolleys or family buses

Bravo HGT - loved this car (except the depreciation  ) 5cyl 20v sounded sweet.

Scratched an itch with this one - 17mpg stung a bit

My first restoration project :thumbsup

What my current (last 5 years-not touched for 2 years) project should look like when finished

Cooper was ok but didn't live up to expectations :(

My sorely missed B&C 140........... why did I sell it? :x

My current commuter - 70mpg with £35pa road tax, almost free motoring :thumbsup

........... and licence. Suppose, but I do miss the SE runs and meets. I think N3's paint is still on the wall although the guttering pipe has been replaced :D

I don't think they were that bad, just not that good. :blackeye
I used to think they were so cool. They always kept breaking down but usually started again after a couple of days no matter what was wrong with them. The little green X1/9 Lido was a 1.3 litre engined car but had no real oomph. Mind you, I was only 19 when I had it so perhaps it was just as well
I think they are almost collectable now.

Forgot about that!

It was short geared, but I didn't have a clue how to drive back then...(Not that I'm much better now... )

You deserve a bravery award for sitting in the car with me!

My 127 (above) had X1/9 wheels fitted - Think it had the same engine (1301cc - 75bhp), too?

A mate had a Gran Finale - Nice car, but the brakes were always binding on...Rust killed it in the end... :(

A few had Mk1 Uno Turbo engines transplanted - With a bleed valve ramping up the boost, they were good for 130-140 bhp+...Made for a rapid X1/9! :blackeye
