I don't know the Edinburgh restaurants so wouldn't be able to judge Peter's answer.
I think it was about 26miles of single track and I met 2 vehicles,
- a camper van near lochinver just before he got to the really tight bit, it had rental all over it so I had a chat and he turned around - wise man
- a milk lorry which had been delivering to the ferry, I wasn't expecting that and by the look on his face he wasn't expecting me.
As I wasn't running along in company I could snap away whenever I wanted. There are 100's of good shots to be had on that road especially when you get round to the coast. I'll add a few others later when I'm home.

Re: 911
Achnahaird Beach is something else. Different concept to Achmelvich - deep and quite exposed - but sitting on the western side of it looking back in towards Assynt is almost indescribable. Something everyone should do once in their lives
In fact, if the weather is kind on Saturday 18th, perhaps we can do a picnic run down there - it won't be about lap records, naturally, particularly if the kids are involved, so the tight nature of the roads shouldn't matter as much.

Yep, I've done Suilven, on an amzing day. It's not too hard but walked in from the North (west coast side) and back out to the coast on the south side. Over 20 miles of boggy terrain. I have some amazing photos including some with a bright orange Elise..campbell wrote:Aye.
Have you climbed Suilven, out of interest?
Your R8 might look quite good photographed with that behind, following on from Kerry's theme!
Re: 911
Glad to hear it.
It's our favourite mountain. Lisa and I have scaled it twice.
Once from Inverkirkaig (south-ish), once from Glencanisp Lodge (west-ish). About 5 years between the trips. On the 2nd one, we got engaged on the summit. I carted a bottle of Taittinger and a pair of flutes all the way up...oh, and a sparkler which had been in the bedside cabinet just feet from Lisa's head for 4 months
The rest, as they say, is history...
I have the pics to prove it but they aren't online...yet
Anyway, sorry for thread hijack Kerry!!

No problem only joking
, I know Campbell is as keen on this area as I am.
These cars do come with a problem though.........you just can't get rid of them, and I'm not much better with the exige. I guess it could be me.

When we got north of Inverness on our recent family hol to Ullapool, Lisa just said "Ah...I've come home!". She's from West Cumbria, FFS...! We spent a lot of time up there "before kids", and for good reason.
Anyway let's see some more neat 911 shots some time Kerry. The causeway near Tongue with Ben Loyal in the background is worth trying too...

Re: 911
Yes, I saw you, but Porsche ergonomics from the 80's do not allow you to readily flash or take hand off the wheel for that matter. At the point we met I was warming up for the left turn (steering is pretty heavy at 30 with a full tank of fuel)
Re: 911
I think there's an Audi lurking in there too. Quite a stable, indeed

Re: 911
Stop it....... it's a small weakness. I also must have a thing about bigger wheel arches - but have managed to resist the RS4 - can't fit a towbar and I'd feel stupid using the exige on long runs to get better mpg.
I don't change cars very often so have to make sure it's going to be something I like, the exige and 911 are both keepers in my judgement. Which means I need another garage!
