If there is rust under the paint it will just come back through. Ideally you would want to remove the calliper shotblast it and then paint. or strip it down send it to me wait 6 months while I design and manufacture some nice aluminium numbers (it would be a home job when I get spare time) and get them anodised.

The calipers ain't rusty. But the inside of the disks are. Will just re-paint if it comes back through (unless it comes back through really quickly!)BiggestNizzy wrote:If there is rust under the paint it will just come back through. Arriving broadside, in a cloud of smoke......
quiet weekend mate????
As long as it keeps you happy
The red ones on the RLC are blistering and looked pretty shafted after a few rounds of donkey punches. No idea when they were done, looks like years back, I didn't even notice it .

Dezzy,
Nice job. Often thought about painting my own calipers, Lisa's Golf's have the red finish and on a black car behind some bling wheels it does look quite pimpy and groovy
The silver detailing of Lotus is a nice touch. Yellow detail on black background would also be quite something I think.
For me I think I'd go with a gunmetal paint however. My temptation is blue, but that is too Fabia vRS I think so must resist at all costs
Campbell
PS - how do you manage to make sure you park with Lotus showing through the spokes every time

Wire brush works just as well... not that I would know...CSK_423 wrote:another idea would have been to paint the full caliper black and instead of the silver template with silver paint being pressed against the lettering, let the paint dry then just run a file down across the caliper taking the paint off the raised letters.
Either way I like it
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
