The VTR version was massed produced but the VTS version were done in limited numbers, for the UK (RHD) anyway. I don't know if you every had a look at how they done the 2 tone, basically it's a Quartz Silver shell with the VT kit in Hurricance Grey. Simple but effective.

That's quite clever, as you say simple but effective.

I never actually saw the car tbh. Had an ad up for my Punto HGT and was offered all sorts in trades. Everything from straight swaps for that Saxo / toyota corolla, vectra sri, car+cash (his way) for an old scooby etc. No one wanted to buy the damn thing!

For a long time kit cars were my thing.

My first car was an Oselli engined Mini Jem. Looking back this was a fantastic little car to have as an 17 year old - I doubt you could get insurance nowadays. I even managed a KH track day and hill climb (seen here at Strathclyde Park hill climb) although I lacked the experience to get the most out of it :thumbsup
Image

I built a Mini Marcos (no photo) and then a Marlin Roadster - but we all make mistakes :?
Image

Not really mine, but I did navigate in this and spent many hours working on it. Yes it is a Marina, and it was surprisingly competitive.

A few others too - but mainly sensible tin tops until I got the Caterham

I used to Autotest an Uno 1litre fireengine, you could rev it to 8.5K, ate gearboxes however, we turreted the rear, compressed the springs with jubilee clips in a vice and shortened the dampers to make it rock hard. I'll fish out a photo at some stage. When i collected it there was a spare engine in the boot which I lifted out by myself, weighed very little, for an engine.

Yes can't take credit for the jubilee clip idea, although not sure I'd want to  Taking an angle grinder and a welder to the damper rods however, pure hillbilly madness
